Privacy Policy
Last updated: 02 Apr 2026
Krystian Żabicki built the FuelUp app as an ad-supported app with optional Premium subscription. This Service is provided by Krystian Żabicki and is intended for use as is.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use FuelUp. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. Terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms & Conditions unless otherwise defined here.
1) Information We May Collect
To provide login, sync, file storage, reminders, analytics, advertising in the free version, subscriptions, and optional voice features, we may process the following categories of data:
- Account and authentication data. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we may receive your unique user ID and, where permitted by the provider and you, your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this data to authenticate you and operate your account.
- App content you create. We process the content you save in the app, such as vehicles, fuel logs, service logs, reminders, categories, settings, and similar account-linked records. This data may be stored in Firebase Realtime Database so it can sync across devices.
- Files, attachments, and vehicle documents. If you add photos, scans, PDFs, office documents, archives, or other supported files to entries or vehicle records, the app may store local copies on your device. When cloud sync is available for your account, related metadata may be stored in Firebase Realtime Database and cloud copies, thumbnails, and related file paths may be stored in Firebase Storage.
- Receipt scanning data. If you use AI receipt scanning, we may process receipt or invoice images, OCR or extracted text, and draft field values generated from that content in order to help populate a form for your review. If you choose to keep the receipt image as an attachment after saving, that image is treated as a regular attachment and follows the storage, sync, and retention rules that apply to attachments.
- Attachment sync and storage metadata. To manage file syncing and storage availability, we may process technical metadata such as file names, file types, MIME types, sizes, thumbnails, sync state, storage paths, cloud URLs, deletion markers, and storage usage or quota records.
- Purchases and subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple In-App Purchases. We do not receive or store your full card or billing details. We may receive receipt, entitlement, subscription lifecycle, renewal, expiration, and related status information from Apple and RevenueCat to unlock or restrict Premium features and to manage retention flows tied to cloud attachments.
- Usage, diagnostics, and performance data. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage and improve stability. This may include device model, OS version, app version, crash traces, and similar diagnostic data.
- Advertising and tracking data. In the free version, we may use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may process device identifiers, advertising data, and anti-fraud signals. If you allow app tracking on iOS, advertising identifiers may be used in accordance with Apple and Google policies. Premium removes in-app ads.
- Notifications and messaging data. If notifications are enabled, we may store push notification tokens, language code, locale identifier, app version, and related technical metadata in order to send reminder notifications and retention-related notices.
- Voice logging data. If you use voice logging, the app may access your microphone and speech recognition permissions, create a transcript from your spoken input using iOS speech recognition services, and send the resulting transcript together with limited app context to Firebase AI using Google AI models in order to generate a draft entry for your review.
- Permission-related device data. Depending on which features you use, the app may request access to location, camera, photo library, files, microphone, speech recognition, notifications, and app tracking settings.
2) How We Use Information
We use the information above to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including to:
- create and authenticate accounts;
- sync app records across devices;
- store, preview, export, and delete files and vehicle documents;
- measure and enforce cloud storage availability and attachment sync limits;
- process Premium purchases, renewals, expirations, and entitlements;
- send reminders and retention-related notices when notifications are enabled;
- show ads in the free version and suppress ads for Premium users;
- analyze usage, detect problems, and improve app stability;
- support optional voice-based entry creation;
- support optional AI-based receipt or invoice scanning.
3) Permissions and Feature Access
- Location. Used to help display nearby gas stations or location-based app features.
- Camera. Used to scan documents and capture photos for entries or vehicle records.
- Photos and files. Used to import images and supported files into logs or vehicle documents.
- Microphone and speech recognition. Used only when you actively use the voice logging feature.
- Notifications. Used for reminders and, where enabled, retention-related notices.
- App tracking. Used, where permitted by you, for personalized advertising and related ad measurement in the free version.
4) Social Logins
If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, the respective provider may share profile data as described above. We use it only to authenticate you and operate your account or session. Your use of those login providers is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and you can revoke access in the provider's settings.
5) Voice Logging
FuelUp offers an optional voice logging feature. If you use it, the app requests microphone and speech recognition access, captures your spoken input while the feature is active, and uses iOS speech recognition services to produce a transcript. The transcript, together with limited context such as relevant app settings or vehicle context, may then be processed by Firebase AI with a Google AI backend to generate a draft fuel-log entry for your review before saving.
We do not promise that Apple, Firebase, Google, or other third-party providers retain no data when their services are used. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies and terms.
6) AI Receipt Scanning
FuelUp may offer an optional AI receipt scanning feature. If you use it, a receipt or invoice image may be preprocessed in the app and then sent to Firebase AI with a Google AI backend in order to extract or structure information for a draft entry or form. Generated results may be incomplete or inaccurate, so you should review and correct them before saving.
If you decide to save the receipt or invoice image as part of an entry, that image may also be stored locally on your device and, where cloud sync is available for your account, synced or retained in the same way as other attachments. If you do not keep the image as an attachment, the image is still subject to processing by the third-party AI services involved in the scan flow according to their own policies.
7) Notifications
If you enable notifications, we may send you reminder notifications and retention-related notices. To do this, we may store and refresh push token records and related language or locale metadata connected to your account. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
8) Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may collect or process information according to their own terms and privacy policies:
9) Cookies and Similar Technologies
The app does not use browser cookies in the traditional sense. However, third-party SDKs and services such as AdMob, Firebase, Apple, and Google may use identifiers and similar technologies for analytics, diagnostics, advertising, fraud prevention, and service delivery.
10) Data Retention and Your Choices
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- Account-linked app records. We generally keep your saved app content until you delete it, delete your account, or ask us to delete your account-linked data, unless longer retention is required by law.
- Local files on your device. Attachments and document files stored locally on your device may remain there until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device.
- Cloud attachment copies after Premium expiry. If Premium expires, cloud attachments are not removed immediately. A retention banner may appear around 24 hours after expiry, reminder notices may be sent around day 30 and day 60, and cloud copies of attachments, related metadata, and cloud storage quota records may be removed at or after day 90 unless Premium is renewed. Local files already stored on your device may remain unless you remove them.
- Push tokens. Push token records may be refreshed, replaced, removed on logout, removed on account deletion, or deleted when they are no longer valid.
- Crash and analytics data. Diagnostic and analytics retention may also be determined by the relevant third-party provider's policies.
You may delete your account from within the app when logged in, or contact fueluphelp@gmail.com if you cannot access your account. You can also manage ad tracking and notification permissions in your device settings.
11) Security
We value your trust in providing your information and use commercially reasonable measures to protect it. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12) Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, or any higher minimum age required by your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will delete it.
13) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
